BIKUR HOLIM - Volunteers are welcome to visit seniors, one on one, in area nursing homes.  Volunteers can learn a lot from listening to a senior's life experiences and seniors appreciate having a caring individual on hand.

KABBALAT SHABBAT SERVICES - Volunteers lead Kabbalat Shabbat Services in area nursing homes, on a regular basis, at a time convenient for them.  Volunteers bring challah, share in songs and Sabbath ritual.  The seniors look forward to this part of their week.

JUNIOR TO SENIOR INITIATIVE - This intergenerational program, in its third year, is a chance for high school juniors and seniors to visit seniors in area nursing homes.  Some of the students lead Kabbalat Shabbat Services, others do friendly visiting and some prefer a craft project, such as a knitting group. 
Timing: Students are asked to visit regularly, weekly, every other week or monthly.  The continuity is very important for participants and seniors.

FOOD PANTRY PACKING AND DELIVERY- Help feed the hungry. Once a month JFS has a food pantry for our clients. We need help packing on Friday morning (work with a group to pack 100 boxes of food)
Or: delivering on Sunday morning to about 4 to 6 clients in Union County.
Timing: Packing is done on Friday morning at 9:30 AM (about 1-2 hours)
